Day Trips
Your trip starts at our main office in Port Jervis. Silver Canoe will transport your group to one of our bases upstream. Then, prepare to enjoy a relaxing fun-filled day as you float back downstream to our Port Jervis base! This is one of the advantages of floating with Silver Canoe,

We open at 8:00 AM. Be Punctual! Equipment must be in by 5:30 PM on weekdays and 6:00 PM on weekends!
Customers should arrive at Silver Canoe no later than 12:00 PM on weekdays and 1:00 PM on weekends! This will allow for enough time to complete the trip and help ensure availability of equipment.

Silver Canoe's whitewater trips give you options, so you can get the most out of your trip with us! Our most popular trip on the Upper Delaware is from Pond Eddy to Port Jervis. This trip on average takes approximately 5 hours and spans a distance of 10 miles. On this trip you will shoot through a series of class I to III level rapids such as 'Staircase', 'Mongaup', 'Hawk's Nest' and 'Eddy Farm'. In between the rapids are calmer waters for you to relax and swim, sunbathe, picnic and much more! We also offer a shorter run from Knights Eddy to our base in Port Jervis. This trip takes 3 hours on average and is approximately 6 miles long. You will float through breathtaking mountain scapes including the spectacular Hawk's Nest Gorge on both these trips!

Note: Canoes continue 2 additional miles downstream to our main office, since they travel the river faster than rafts. Time of trips are an average and can vary due to weather and river conditions and overall enthusiasm of your group!

Family Fun!

Bring the entire family and give the kids a trip they will always remember! Silver Canoe brings you river rafting that your family can afford. All children ages 12 and under MUST wear their life jackets at all times. Silver Canoe provides life jackets in children sizes.

Overnight/Camping Trips
Call Silver Canoe to plan your overnight trip on the Delaware! We offer trips that cover different areas of the Delaware, starting above Barryville and going as far as Bushkill Falls.

Camping is allowed only in designated areas and is limited to a one night stay in each area. Silver Canoe is also located close to national park camping areas such as High Point State Park and Stokes State Forest. There are also family campgrounds with many conveniences located within a 5-15 minute drive of Silver Canoe.

Be Prepared for Your Trip!
  • There are many spots to pull over for picnicking and relaxing on the shores of the Delaware! So be sure to pack a cooler full of food and beverage. We suggest that you also bring plenty of drinking water. Please avoid bringing glass containers or heavy, metal coolers!
  • You can guarantee you are going to get wet! So bring an old pair of sneakers and a change of clothing.
  • Bring plenty of sunscreen or suntan lotion! Bringing along a hat is also a good idea!
  • Garbage bags are handy and will make it easier to discard any trash you may have at the end of your trip. Please do not litter! Plus they make excellent rain ponchos, just in case.
  • Please do not bring expensive cameras, video or audio equipment, jewelry or any other valuable items!

River Rules!
  • Silver Canoe recommends that all customers wear their life jackets, for safety! All children ages 12 and under MUST wear their life jackets at all times, it is the law!
  • Silver Canoe reserves the right to refuse to rent to anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
  • No carrying or discharging of fireworks or firearms.
  • No trespassing on private property.
  • Fishing permits are required.
  • No littering.
  • No destroying wildlife or defacing natural resources.

The Upper Delaware is a national park which is managed and patrolled by the National Park Service. Park rangers are present for your safety and to protect the Delaware. For a safe and relaxing trip, please abide by all rules and regulations!
